What happens when the workers take over the means of production? Could so-called "recovered" factories be the answer to our ongoing socio-economic dilemma, or are they marely a historical curiosity? Join Andrew Winchur for a viewing of "The Take," Naomi Klein and Avi Lewis' 2004 documentary on the Argentine factory occupation movement. Stay for a post-viewing discussion on its relevance to contemporary politics and organizing.
Andrew Winchur is a Toronto-based author and activist, who in the past has worked with the Mayworks Festival for the Arts and the Occupy-inspired Free'scool movement. His writing have appeared in CineAction and Carte Blanche magazine.
